About Nina Gaarden

Nina Gaarden is a Norwegian singer-songwriter inspired by genres like 70s folk and indie music. Her first greatest musical discoveries in her youth, came from timeless legends like The Beatles, Neil Young and Simon & Garfunkel.

Growing up among dramatic mountains and the arctic ocean, stands in great contrast to living most of her adult life in the urban streets of Oslo. This has shaped her songwriting to express the hardships of navigating the social jungle, and also a longing to be in contact with your most authentic and powerful self. Her writing process is often a conversation between her inner intuitive voice, where she finds the words and the emotional compass to her true nature.

Nina Gaarden has collaborated with talented musicians and producers with various styles and backgrounds. The unique multi-instrumentalist Andreas Lanesjord has contributed with his organic and electronic production on Gaarden`s debut single “Løv”, and two other English songs: “Heartbreak & Masquerades” and “If love was right in front of you”.

The EP from 2020: “Bær det på min rygg” (Carry it on my back), was an ambitious project involving a whole group of talented musicians, produced by the multifaceted Rune Berg in Lydbroderiet studio and record label.

It is also worth to mention her concert collaborations with multi-instrumental legend Hans-Urban Andersson, mainly in Northern Norway. The duo played at various idyllic, coastal venues in the summer of 2024, and also received a wonderful concert review during the Narvik festival Vinterfestuka 2024, titled: “Everyday magic at the sailer church”. Andersson juggles both cello, clarinet, saxophone and drums (!).

The last few years, Nina Gaarden has a newfound inspiration in meditative music, and more specifically mantra singing. This style of simplistic presence and a longing for a connection to your own human nature, planted the seeds for her newest single: “Våkne med sola” (Awake with the sun), released in 2024.
